The Lord Still Reigns
« on: May 16, 2004, 03:57:50 PM »
My wife came to our bedroom this afternoon weeping. She had been visited by a close friend. My wife had surgery Monday and the lady came to visit.
This lady was born and raised Catholic, she divorced and joined the Episcopal Church.
About four years ago they got a new Priest. he told the congregation that the only message he would preach while there was Christ Jesus from the Bible.
It has been four years and this lady said she has come to know christ in a more personal way than she ever had. Recently, I do not know how long, this priest gave an altar call and phyllis resonded. She told my wife she did not want to rely on her upbringing and wanted to meet Jesus that day.
This lady is pretty old, bout 60 I would guess, and she found the Lord. they study the bible in sunday school and this was also part of her testimony.
I'm not anti-Catholic by any means, I love the Church and know some real born again christians who worship there
my post is strictly to praise the Lord, give him honor and glory and to say the Holy Spirit still reigns and is at work in the lives of folks today.
blessings

I feel that the Lord ain't really worried about your denomination as much as your heart. I would have to say He knows if you really mean it or are just giving him "lip service" so to speak. Just like the pharisee's of old who stood out on the street, talking about all the things they done for God and such. You already have your reward, as you brag how godly, and pious you are.

Just the same, God see's you when you do something for someone that nobody else know's about but you and Him.
And you don't have to be in a church house to worship a God that made the whole world. It is good for ya though!
