I might have asked someplace, but I don't remember where, so... Is aluminum bronze good for a bbl? Or just for bearings? Have a piece 2.5" and would like to build a blunderbuss, but not a grenade! If the metal fails, will it rip or shatter? Can a reliable test piece be made to give a fair estimation? And if so, how? Since I can't be sure how it will be loaded a in a generation or two, I'd rather error on the safe side. Estimated bore: 1"- 1.5" at breach and tapered to muzzle. Lot of work carving chips, so if it's a bad idea, maybe I'll try to trade for a piece of better stuff; hopefully DOM bronze. Comments wanted. MM
