Just got my Tikka
« on: May 09, 2004, 09:01:55 AM »
I just picked up my Tikka T3 lite ss in 7mmRM this past friday. I haveb't had a chance to shoot it yet but it's all set up and ready to go. Let me tell you that holding and dry firing this rifle immediately reminds me of why i wanted one so bad.
The bolt is smooth and the trigger is nice and crisp. This is truly a high quality rifle at a moderate price. I'm sure it will shoot as good as it looks and feels. BTW mine was $565 OTD from a local shop. He ordered it in and I had it within a week.

Congrats on a great rifle.  What are your plans for it. . . hunting wise?

This will likely be my new do it all rifle. Blacktails, bear and elk. It's light enuff to hike with,as weather resistant as a rifle can be for rainy hunts and in 7mmRM there's not much it won't do that I'll ask it to do. I put a 3-9x40 silver vx-2 on it and it really looks sharp.
I've been using a remington 721 30-06 that has been handed down through the family. It's got a custom glass bedded stock and it's a great looking rifle. It's got alot of sentimental value and I keep fearing something will happen to it. It's gonna get retired for awhile until my son is big enuff to handle the '06 recoil. He's nearly 7 now. Gotta keep the tradition with this fine rifle.

I ordered a T3 Stainless in .300WSM about 2 months ago, but I have been so busy (traveling back and forth between Miami, NY, and Brazil) that I haven't even picked it up yet.

Still, I'm glad to hear that you love yours.

I picked up a T3 a couple weeks ago, these are some great rifles. Mine is a 270wsm, it shoots a .49 group with the first load!! I don't think you'll be disapointed.
