picked one up from a friend 308 that had a grand total of 12 rounds fired thru it w/ org box fac. target, scope(tasco) and rings.
didn't mount the scope and rings and tryed it at 50 yards with iron sights man I am impressed.the set trigger breaks maybe 2 lb's shot some handloads made for my M1A and cut a ragged hole.like I say I am impressed best 350.00 I have ever spent.

CZ 550 Lux

I have one in 6.5 Swede, and I love it.  The rifle is heavy, and the action could be smoothed out, but it is accurate and recoil is minimal due to the stock weight and round energy.  I personally am not crazy about the european Monte Carlo stock, but on softer shooting rounds, it is ok.

I did not try out the iron sights, how do you like the sight picture?  I just put a Weaver Grand Slam on it with Millett rings.  I may eventually purchase Warne quick release rings so that I can take advantage of the iron sights if necessary (the scope becomes damaged).

All in all the CZ 550 have lots of pluses and are generally very accurate.  The minuses are the heavy stock (I don't mind) and the sometimes rough actions (just polish it out with a stone).

I am considering in the next year or two buying their American stocked Magnum in 375 H&H. 8)

Other than the weight it's a fine rifle.  The finish on the stock scratches r

eal easy, but that's no problem.  It shoots great and really likes H-4350.

CZ 550 Lux Scope

Again I suggest Warne quick release rings.  Before you buy a scope, mount the rings (temporarily, and measure the outside distance on both rings.  This is an important measurement, many of the new scopes are short, too short.  I needed double extensions for my Weaver Grand Slam scope (great scope by the way).  Also in this price range is the Nikon Monarch, and Bushnell Elite.  The Nikons are probably the best all round combination of brightness and adequate eye relief.  The Bushnells are also very bright, they just have shorter eye relief.

Thanks for the information on the iron sights, eventually I will give them a try. 8)

the rings I have are the standard cz rings they seem well made.the action on mine is alot smoother than my rem 700 bdl.I just don't see where one would smooth it out,or maybe I just got lucky.
