Tikka T3 Lite Stainless?
« on: May 02, 2004, 10:23:30 AM »
Anyone use the Tikka T3 Lite Stainless .22-250? I Think this is the coyote gun that I will be getting. I have a 595 .243 and 695 7MM Mag. both are very accurate, less than 1in with Federal premium.

Obviously not many are.  But with so many rifles to choose from in so many calibers  . . . wah!!!!  Personally I think it would be a good. choice, although I would be very happy to get one in the model 595.  Got one in 243 and really like it!  You will have quite a trio of shooters for sure.

Does anyone know if the T3 has the same size barrel as the Whitetail hunter?

Yes, they are the same.  The T3s are lighter mostly due to the stock, but the barrels are still the same.

Choosing?

Having trouble choosing between T3 Lite and T3 Varmint, the Varmit maybe a little heavy for walking, but sure looks  nice. Any input?
Thanks for the replies.

Not only is it heavy, but also bulky.  The forend is beaver-tail-style, and the detachable magazine significantly extends below the stock.  A solid, well-built rifle it is, but, in my opinion, only for bench-style shooting.  I would never consider taking that thing on a hike. :)

I know it would be too heavy for a walking gun, just needed somone to confirm it. I have a number of Brno target rifles that are heavy, don't think I would want to carry one on a long hike.  I will be ordering the Lite stainless.
Thanks
Jim :-D
