Author Topic: GEEZE! I don't know what modle my S&W revolver is!! (Read 651 times)

I've got a stainless steel DA S&W .357 mag. with a two inch barrel and fully adjustable rear sights and I can't find the modle anywhere on the gun. I believe the J frame is the smaller gun, is it not? If so, this is not a J frame, I had one of those MANY years ago (I think!). This is a six shooter, BTW. HOLD IT!! Its a modle 66-2. Why that can't be put in plain sight, I don't know. We old farts need a break! Anyway, is this gun a keeper or is there anything I should know that S&W is not spreading around?

I haven't heard of anything that makes a Model 66 any different than any other S&W so I'd say keep if you like it, sell it if you don't. It's not the most common model around but it's not all that rare either.

I got rid of one and have regretted it ever since, I believe if you double check you will find that the barrel is 2 1/2 in long and they did make a few 3 in. ones, your handgun is the Stainless version of the great model 19 I would keep it if I had it.

Hey guys, thanks for the feedback. Yeah, I'm gonna keep it. As a matter of fact I plan to get some dies and reload for it.
