.17 hornady Mach 2 /.17 Aguila Data?
« on: April 26, 2004, 04:46:54 AM »
Can someone tell me or post a link where I can find chamber dimensions for these .17 M2 or .17 High standard/aquila.Which one has the larger chamber?
Could a .17 aquila be rechambered to .17 M2?
Brownelles has 10-22 barrels for the .17 High standard/aguila
What I was thinking was if I bought a .17 High standard/aquila now!
could I have it rechambered later for .17 M2?

the mach 2 is the longer stinger case.  i believe the highstandard and aguila use the standard length case.  so i think you could have it rechambered for the mach 2 later.  there are a few places that have the mach 2 reamers now.  http://www.clymertool.com/welcome.html  http://www.tacticalsol.com/index.htm  someone said that http://www.mansonreamers.com/ has or will have reamers for $65.

Yes you can rechanber the 17HS barrel to 17M2 but you may be better off going with a green MTn bareel the one from Brownells is not that good of a barrel. I think you may what to hold off and any ways as the Aquile ammo may be out before the 17m2 stuff is.
