Two barrels, two forearms, and three hanger systems here. Sort of like
being used to riding a plow horse and then getting on a thorough-bred.

A Tactical 20 barrel consistently shoots 1/4" groups and its best has been
just a tad over 1/8".  A 209x50 Douglas barrel shoots a little better than
the original 209x50 (still trying to find its "honey load", but have been
attempting lighter bullets -- gonna have to go with 240gr or heavier). The
hanger system really makes installing the forearm a snap, as the forearm
more or less falls into place and is already lined up for the screws.

I haven't regretted getting any of these products from VVCG for one
second.

My second VVCG barrel will arrive any day now................first one is a carbine length 6 mm 30-30 AI that is absolutely excellent. Capable of bench rest type accuracy and I have no doubt my new one will be everything this one is.

I just received my new Shilen match grade Encore barrel last week from Virgin Valley, but I've been so busy I haven't had time to go down a buy a scope for it. Wish I could tell you how it shoots, but I haven't gotten that far yet. If it shoots anything like it looks, it ought to shoot tight groups clean over into Mississippi!

Steve was a pleasure to do business with, and I'm glad I chose VV. I'm about to send my muzzleloader barrel in to have it tricked out as well.

280AI 26" shoots 140gr 3196fps avg at .830" avg

Love the Lone Wolf stock and forend.

Dutch - were you in on the group purchase deal from VVCG ? I was and got 10% off. Besides the excellent workmanship of my barrels the one thing I really like is the "up front" completion date issue that seems to always come up with other custom TC barrel houses. Steve told me in January I would recieve my barrel the last week of April.......it shipped yesterday. Some of my past custom barrel experiences were no where near that quick or that accurate.

skb2706, can't say that I got in on any kind of group deal, just called Steve up and ordered one right after the first of the year.

I agree that Steve and Co. seem to have it all together. Even though they seem extremely busy, they took time to answer all my questions and specifics about getting my barrel exactly like I wanted it and got it to me on schedule. I'll definitely do business with them again! :agree:

I have one of their tweaked encore stainless frames with 26" 25-06 barrel with muzzlebreak and VVCG base and rings sitting in one of their pepper laminated stock sets.It is the best shooting rifle i have ever shouldered and kicks no more than a .22 mag.It loves 100gr. ballistic tips over 53.5 gr. of 4831sc.The trigger pull is 2 1/2 lbs.
