I own a 270 CDL, and have looked over the entire stock at the local gun shop that I frequent. They have a .243, 7-08 and one other one which I can't remember the caliber. I've looked them all over very carefully and was mildly impressed with the fit and finish of them all. Remington is either getting better or the shop here is really lucky. All the CDLs were setting in the stocks straight and fitting of metal and wood were perfect, top and bottom. They looked much better than some of the recent batch of Remington LSS Mountain rifles I've seen.
The .270 I have was, as I said, fit and finished to perfection. I decided to bed it anyway, just to eliminate any problems. I've only shot one group since breaking the barrel in, because I ran out of ammo, but that 3 shot 100 yard group was 9/16". I did fire one group while breaking the barrel in, which involved taking the gun off of the rest bags after each shot to clean the barrel. As you know this wreaks havoc with groups, but I still was able to shoot a 1-1/4" group, so I was pretty impressed overall with the accuracy.
