Been reading the topic Hornady XTP or Remington bullets in the 44 mag. in handgun loads. Does anybody use the Nosler 240hp in a handgun for hunting or plinking? Have a Happy Easter Hippie

I picked up a box of Nosler 300 grain hp bullets. My seating die (RCBS) would distort the exposed lead nose of the bullet, no matter which plug I used. I just used them for plinking, and haven't yet tried any serious load work with them, so I can't speak as to how accurate they might be.

I've been loading them for my TC Contender. I've used the 200 gr previously for deer hunting with good results.

i used to buy nosler 240 gr. soft points to use in my 1894 marlin and for my sbhh. very accurate bullet. i loaded them with 22.6 grains h110 and cci magnum pistol primers. these were the most accurate handgun load i have ever shot out of a revolver. i shot a 2 inch group at 75 yards. i never shot an animal with these though. i have since switched to cast bullets; strictly because of cost per shot (and i enjoy doing as much as i can to roll my own). if i can ever duplicate the results i had with the noslers i will be elated! btw, cost aside, noslers are my favorite bullet for long range rifles.
