Hey, guys!! Thanks for the previous info you have supplied.
Anyway, I picked up a brand spanking new (for a used price as it was traded or sold at my favorite gun store/pawn shop) 96 Ruger in .22 LR. I traded a real nice (excellent condition) Remington nylon 66 and $130 bucks for it which I thought was pretty fair. Anyway, this Ruger reminds me a lot of the old Savage 99 and seems to have a really slick action.
Any one here have any experience with these rifles? Seems to want to shoot well but that brass bead and my 56 yar old eyes don't agree. What would you suggest for a scope-- some compact like a Burris or Leupold? Would like to have some nice glass on it as iron sights just don't work well for me any more. Williams used to make a receiver sight for the 1022 which exactly matched the curve of that receiver, which was really slick. Would also consider that over a scope if one was available.
Thanks ahead of time for any help you can give me. Sure enjoy this web site--nice to meet with knowledgible people where firearms is not a foreign language.
Jack
