Got 8" Barrel & Shroud + Barrel Tool Kit For DW 15-
« on: April 10, 2004, 01:22:43 AM »
Went to Biff's Gun World Yesterday and bought a used 8" barrel & shroud and got me the barrel tool the newer one that looks like a Brass Doorknob.
I did a trade for some holsters and the askin price was $130 but after the trade it came out to $50..Thanks Biff.
I also got the 3 allen wrenches and .006" feeler gauge too.
The 8" barrel has the short shoud  in the blued finish.
It looks great on the revolver,What a Handfull.
Also installed the Pachmayr Gripper Grips.
I'll be going shootin this morning :gun4:  :blaster:  :excuseme:  :yeah:

Dw Very Accurate

The DW is very very accurate.
The cylinder chambers are very rough and had problems extracting after shooting some magnums.
I may have screwed up because I shot about 100 38 Spl. First and then switched to magnums and was getting case sticking.
I didn't have a chamber brush at the range,Shamefull..
Also I shot some 38 Sellier & Bellot then the Rubbish Armscor 357,Very Dirty, The Winchester 357s were the best and didn't stick like the Armscor.
Needless to say I won't buy anymore of that Armscor Rubbish.
I only shot the DW with the 8" barrel and it is as accurate as a carbine.
I was also getting side spit a bit with the armscor with the cylinder gap set at .006" ,I'm gonna try for  around .002"-.003",We'll see.
What do you guys use to smooth out the cylinder chambers.
Also I note that the DW doesn't have much of a forcing cone and no target crown at the muzzle.
I may try polishing the chambers with flitz on a patch around a mop and turn it with my Cordless drill? I'm unsure.
I contacted Brownell's about a cylinder reamer,a few of them are tighter than others...
But the DW is the most accurate Handgun I ever shot and I've shot a alot.
More accurate than my Ruger MKII 6 7/8" Target @ 100 Yards.SWEET!!
I'll be in the LOOK for a 12" or 15" barrel and shroud for the 15-2..
Thanks to Jr.@ Biff's Gun World Thanks for everything, I'll be comin by to get that 2 1/4" barrel & shroud and to get some extra colored  front sights.
I had to stop at Kiesler's to get me a 8 3/8 gunrug as my largest case is for a 6".The price $4.. Thanks Doug & Wesly Kiesler.
Please if anyone knows the answer to the Cylinder sticking problem let me know.. I'll be askin Little Biff Too. He had at least 8 cylinders in his DW goodie box. He'll know the secret and may have the reamer.
I'll call him up Monday..I also got 4 #10 HJS speedloaders for $3 ea.
Thanks "Dan Wesson" BerettaPistols@Yahoo.Com

I started with a DW 15 with a 6" barrel

and by slowly by searching auction sites and gunshows I have managed to compile myself  a complete pistol pac with barrels from 2.5" through 8"
and 2 4" barrels and shrouds with a couple of wrenches (old style - 2 plastic and 1 metal) .6 feeler gages. The old style wrenches come with the allen keys already attached Added a few colored fronsights and even a patridge sight too. Then I had to buy a hard case complete with foam cutouts squares so I could fit it to my gun. and all the barrels wrenches and stuff. Nice pistol pac now and I plan to keep it. all I need now is to get a couple of patches and a belt buckle or two and I will have a compl;ete set. I would like a 10 or 15 inch barrel and shrould just for fun 10" would be preferable if I could afford one.
