New guns from Dave Clements
« on: April 08, 2004, 11:30:29 AM »
Got my two guns back today and am dancing around like a little kid. Dave did a .44 spec. on an old model Ruger for me Full accurized conversion case hardened super black hawk hammer bowen sight 4 inch barrel roundbutted the grip frame. Its one cut little gun and he took my old vaquero .45 that had thousands of rounds through it tightened it up free wheeled and blackpowder champered the cyl. cut the barrel to 4 5/8s took the warning off put a drift adj. sight on it recut the forcing cone round butted it fit the french walnut sk grips i had on it and case hardened the frame. That gun turned out to be one of the prettiest guns ive ever seen! The case colars are spectacular! Took them to the range today and they both shot as good as they looked! To say im pleased would be the biggest understatement of my life! Dont ever hesitate to use Daves services his work is top notch and a bargin!!  Im on my girlfriends computer but when i get home ill post some pics.

No, barrels get shorter!  Our eyes cannot compensate for the distance between the sights as well as when we were younger.  Sounds like a couple of keepers!  Had a .45 Blackhawk that Ken Kelley at Mag-na-port did up with a 4" bbl, beautiful polish and blue, and round butt.  Slickest big bore gun I have owned.  A 4" bbl has to be the perfect length for a single action!  Got stupid and decided I was getting out of .45's, and sold it.  Foolish knows no age boundries.  I will have another someday.  44 Man
