9mm rimfire...long and short...shotshell and slug?!
« on: April 07, 2004, 05:13:37 PM »
All of you know how I feel right now! ever get the fireanrm you've always wanted after years of oglling at it. Well today my aunt just called me to her home and presented me with my decessed uncle's guncabinet that my grandfather made and inside was the 'lil Winchester Model 36 in 9mm  rimfire...... Dang I feel light doing cartwheels.  Well at least jumping for joy.  And deeply tucked at the bottom behind my g-pa's spurs and bullwhip was a baggie with ammo...., paper shotshells long and slug shorts, and a couple long brass and nickol plated shells which I assume are shotshells since they have a  wax type plug in the business end of them.  Anyone ever heard of these, I've never seen on of these anywhere else  :-D
Oh yeah...by the way I'm not intersted in selling! I don't care how much they are worth I'm just interested in the centimental value of this airloom! Just had to tell someone the good news... thanks guys

1stshot,
Just FYI, they were made from 1920-27.  Worth about $300. (even if you don't care). :)

p.s.found on anothe post that that 9mm long shotshell is still being produced. might just have to get a box....don't want to shoot the older stuff. ithink i'll keep it on the shelf with some of my other odd rounds.

I think That Dynamit-Noble still produces the 9mm rimfire
"BB CAP" I have some in my collection, but I am not sure how old they are. Its a little short copper case with a round ball crimped into it.
They are in a Hocky puck shaped plastic container so I assume they
are of recent manufacture.
