Leupold MK4 bases?
« on: April 04, 2004, 07:08:57 AM »
I'm looking for a good solid two piece base to use with MK4 rings.

I tried looking up MK4 on Leupolds site but they don't even list them (odd).

I'm putting a Elite 4200 4-16x on a remy SA with a ultra heavy barrel and need some height here.  I tried using the Weaver grand slam's that I had sitting around but they were way too low for this put together.

I have a one piece rail but like more room to get my fingers in there, I haven't been able to check the spec's on the MK4 bases to see if they are higher up so I figured I should ask around.  Any tips?

check with Brownells teck support line.  If they stock the parts they will usually answer any questions concerning dimensions and it's a free service.  I asked the hole spacing on a Weaver Side mount base for a M75 Winchester.  the rifle had already been drilled and I just wanted to added a scope back without drilling any more holes.  they gave me the spacing dimensions and the base worked just fine!!  Give them a call, they're very helpful..

Gunnut,

Good Idea!  I haven't used there services (call in) so it's about time I did anyway.  I can get both things taken care of at  the same time.

Thanks,

Gunnut,

Guntech from bownells recommended I go with replacing the rings with Warne Maximun permant mounts (high).

I ordered them at the same time I ordered the blueing cream to nuetralize the pits.

Thanks for the help.
