Encore Heavy Forends
« on: April 03, 2004, 10:38:15 AM »
Does anyone know if there is a manufacturer making heavy, target style forends for the Encore in composite? I have been looking for something around 13 to 14" long and 2 1/2" or wider. It doesn't seem that anyone is selling this type of forend in wood or synthetic. I may opt for a custom through Bullberry or Virgin Valley, but I just wanted to see if I was missing something before I buy.

It`s no big deal to make your own froe arm. I made one for a Contender and am going to get some more wallnut and make acouple more. I like 2 1/2 in. square blocks about 14 in. long. I like to square out the area for the mounting lugs and put a piece of flat steel in the bottom of it and float the barrel. The one I built is on a Contender in .17 AH and has shot alot of groups under !/4 moa.

What do you use to fit the forend to the action and so on(router, dremel, etc.)?
