Quiet day with family, caught president's speech that was given at Mt Rushmore on the third.

Usual big fireworks down at the lake, half a mile away. ...But by time that started, considering my dislike of fireworks, I was in my house catching a documentary on TV.

Went out to a restaurant, way out in the boonies, (Duelm, Minn.)  that always had a 4th of July auto show and found out they did not do it this year.
It was a nice drive on an old former main road that goes through a pretty area where the farm/s grow vegetables  for commercial use, an uncommon
site in Minn.
We were surprised to see a lot of places that were normally open on the 4th were closed this year, so we ended up eating at Chipotles.  Their menus is down to a bare minimum for a Tex-Mex place now.  You can pick what you want on your item but you have total of 5 meal items to choose from.
Did not have any George Washingtons to spend on fireworks, so as it rained hard in the late afternoon, just watched the Twins game on TV and then in the evening watched the big fireworks show in Washington D.C.

I watched several channels showing fireworks shows in different cities, and while D.C. had the biggest, I think the Macy's show from New York was more to my liking. Bigger as Trump bragged , is not always better.
Up here the Fourth usually sounds like a war zone but this year , maybe due to the heavy rain that had hit, seemed a bit less loud.
