Americans killed by cuban military/police
« on: Yesterday at 04:33:54 PM »
I just heard about this.
Supposedly allegedly a group of Americans
were shot and killed after popping
some rounds at cuban military/police
( I don't know which exactly. Maybe
they're the same) while piloting a
"speedboat " in off-limits cuban territory.

I haven't found much of any details so
far. Might be a bunch of hooey. I don't
have a clue except that there's no details
available right now
" . . We're the United States of Amerigotit ! ! "

The boat was registered in Florida, but I haven’t heard it was crewed by Americans. My uneducated guess is that the boat was stolen by drug runners, and the Cubans beat us to them.
Disarming is a mistake free people can only make once.

Cuba: People Shot Aboard Speedboat Had Terrorist Intentions

The Cuban government said Wednesday that 10 people aboard a Florida-registered speedboat that entered Cuban waters and opened fire on a Cuban patrol were armed with assault rifles and had "terrorist" intentions, according to official media.

The occupants of the speedboat were Cubans who resided in the U.S., state-run news outlet Cubadebate reported, citing the interior ministry.

Cuba said earlier that its forces killed four people and wounded six others aboard the speedboat.

The United States should not automatically believe what Cuba has to say following a deadly incident involving a Florida-registered speedboat and Cuban Border Guard troops that left four people dead and six injured, Rep. Randy Fine told Newsmax on Thursday.

"I share Secretary [Marco] Rubio's view," the Florida Republican said on Newsmax's "Wake Up America Early." "We can't take the Cubans' word about what happened. It is a communist regime and has not been a friend of the United States."

Cuba has said the victims were armed Cuban nationals living in the United States who were attempting to infiltrate the island and carry out terrorist activities.

Fine said key facts remain unclear, including how the boat was obtained.

"The owner of the boat claims that his boat was stolen, and so we don't exactly know what happened," he said. "It's unusual. We need to get to the bottom of it, because the fact of the matter is, we deserve to have a friend 90 miles off the coast of Florida, not an enemy."

Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier has directed the Office of Statewide Prosecution to work with federal, state, and local partners to investigate the shooting.

Fine said the United States can continue its longstanding standoff with Cuba while pursuing answers.

"We've been in this sort of face-off for decades now, and that will continue," Fine said.

"We cannot trust what they say," he added. "We don't know who these people were that went over there. We don't know what they were trying to do. We don't know the circumstances about how they got this boat."

Cuba has "intended to harm the United States and harm its own people for decades," said Fine, noting that the regime's ties to Venezuela and other U.S. adversaries underscore the need for caution.

Fine also on Thursday addressed President Donald Trump's decision to appoint Vice President JD Vance as an anti-fraud czar tasked with rooting out waste in government programs.

"I'm incredibly excited that the president thinks this is important," Fine said. "I think what we're going to find as that investigation expands is widespread fraud just about everywhere."

Fine pointed to Minnesota, where the Trump administration has paused certain federal Medicaid payments to the state amid fraud concerns.

"The good news is, as we get rid of this fraud, we can bring down our deficit without hurting actual Americans who need these programs," he said.

Asked whether other states could see similar funding pauses, Fine said, "Absolutely."

"I think what we're seeing in Minnesota is the fraud was not a bug. It was a feature," he said, accusing Democrat officials of knowingly allowing misconduct. "They all need to go to jail."

Fine also discussed criticism over a prior social media post about choosing between dogs and Muslims, saying he brought his blind father and his seeing-eye dog, Sadie, to Trump's recent State of the Union address to underscore his support for American cultural values.

"This is the United States of America. If you want to come here, you abide by our values. You don't force us to submit to yours," Fine said. "This is the United States of America. We love our dogs. And if you don't like it, go back to where you came from."

Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Rep. Carlos Gimenez, R-Fla., are calling for an investigation after Cuban authorities allegedly opened fire on a U.S.-registered boat Wednesday, killing four people in waters near the island.

"We're going to find out exactly what happened here, and then we'll respond accordingly," Rubio said while attending a regional conference in St. Kitts and Nevis.

Rubio, who was born in Miami to Cuban immigrants, noted the rarity of such an incident, saying, "It is highly unusual to see shootouts in open sea like that. It's not something that happens every day. It's something, frankly, that hasn't happened with Cuba in a very long time."

Cuba's Interior Ministry said the vessel came within 1 nautical mile northeast of a coastal town in central Cuba and opened fire on border officers when security forces attempted to identify those onboard.

The ministry said the boat was carrying 10 armed Cubans who live in the United States and were attempting an "infiltration" of the island for "terrorist purposes," according to state media.

Cuban officials said the wounded were evacuated for medical treatment and defended the country's actions.

"In the face of current challenges, Cuba reaffirms its determination to protect its territorial waters," the government said on X, calling national defense a pillar of its sovereignty.

Gimenez, a vocal critic of the Cuban government, condemned the incident.

"I am calling for an immediate investigation into this massacre. United States authorities must determine whether any of the victims were U.S. citizens or legal residents and establish exactly what occurred," he said. "The regime in Cuba must be relegated to the dustbin of history for its countless crimes against humanity."

The shooting threatens to further strain already tense relations between Washington and Havana. U.S.-Cuba ties have remained fragile for years, marked by sanctions, diplomatic disputes, and long-standing political hostility since the 1959 Cuban Revolution.

The island nation sits 90 miles south of Florida, and maritime incidents have historically heightened tensions, particularly amid disputes over migration, security, and alleged subversive activity.

U.S. officials have not yet released details about the identities of the four people killed or confirmed Cuba's account of the confrontation.
