Gas check...
« on: January 21, 2026, 03:06:30 AM »
Our gasoline is running from $2.90 to $3.19 per gallon. I suspect our far left governor is heaping taxes on it.

How are you guys in decently run states doing on gas prices ?  ..Please elucidate.

I see in Washington, with a bunch of new taxes this year, is nearly $5 a gallon! And not surprisingly they want MORE tax money!

In Wisconsin $2.39-2.49 lately. Not many new taxes tacked on.

Apparently as suspected, residents of blue run states are getting the shaft again. I heard this morning, that folks in California are paying $5..

Guess somebody has to pay for the bennies for the illegal robbers, rapists, scammers and pedos, to whom the Dems are giving the country.

Was $2.59 here in NE Ohio yesterday, just jumped to $2.99 today - but, this is Speedway country so this is normal, it will come back down in a week or so.

Golly George, you must have hit the jackpot there in Ouaquaga...or else you are driving to the reservation...about 33 miles away.

You live just south of Syracuse, and here's today's prices in Syracuse..   https://www.driving-test-pro.com/gas-stations/new-york/syracuse/

I found the gas prices for the reservations (who pay no taxes) as they stand today.  Scroll down to see the immediate past for regular stations, here they are.  Of course, the reservations pay no taxes, so they split the tax money with the customer.

You can see from the year ago prices, that even though gas prices have dropped everywhere else, it sure looks like NY State has kept the difference.

Scroll to bottom, to see the immediate past for regular stations across the state.  Of course, the reservations pay no taxes, so the tax portion is the difference.

Actually Ouaquaga, NY is 1-1/2hrs south of Syracuse.  I buy my gas in Binghamton, NY.for historic value..or convenience for snowmobilers..

I  took the liberty of looking up Oauquaga on google..  It looks like a nice little town where you live.  Do they retain an historic bridge there?  I saw one on the map
and wondered if it was .

I did find what is termed current prices for Binghamton... I go through Binghamton now and then.

Here is what they claim are the prices...   https://www.driving-test-pro.com/gas-stations/new-york/binghamton/

Yes, they do maintain the bridge.  I buy my gas at Mirabito, they used to store their bottled gas in an open building about 300yds from where i grew up.
Good Shooting,
George

ironglowz, apparently your chart is outdated, it shows gas is $1.09 per gallon more than I pay now at the same station.

Who knows...  I guess I have to chalk it up to the popular quip, which says...  "It must be true, I found it on the internet!"... :D ;D

Depends on where you go but in mid-Minnesota, it runs from 2.39 to 2.79.
Went up 20 cents last night.

I prefer https://www.gasbuddy.com/gasprices - they have millions of people using their app to post current gas prices across the country.  Not guaranteed to be up to date unless you have a few dedicated gas price posters in the area, but in my area at least it's rare for them to be very far off unless prices have just spiked.
