Yeah, NATO is has been in LaLa Land when it comes to Greenland.
And I really don't think they sent in that many troops.
Yes; the European NATO nations have been snoozing. Back when I arrived, along in Europe, Germany was occupied by British, French and American forces, along with the Bundeswehr (German army).

Shortly after I arrived, "status of forces" was changed..which changed the rules.. no longer "occupied", although not much happened on the ground.
Even then, we American troops didn't consider the French & German forces as basically tough..although the Brits and Canadians were right on. (opinions only)

However, apparently the European powers started to relax, lay back and let old "Uncle Sugar" provide for their defense..
Meanwhile they drastically cut back on their financial obligations to NATO, and boasted of things like 30 vacation days a year, 'free' health care, and with some, free college. ..All the while, through lopsided support of NATO, we were indirectly paying for these bennies, they handed out.
Now that they are expected to pay in full for their own defense, their politicians are squirming, looking for somebody to blame.
...And it looks like Trump is as a good a candidate as any...
Pres Trump, as any good president should, put his country first ! Apparently a foreign concept for the Dems..so now thew Eueros have a hard time dealing with it !
The TDS has set in so bad, that it looks like Canada's Carney is ready to sell Canada out to the Chinese, while the EU is now flirting with Putin's Russia.
It looks like Meloni (Italy) is hanging tough with Trump, as are the eastern Europe, former Soviet client states.
