   The nation may be small geographically, but it is beginning to loom large in the world.

    Perhaps the longest history of any nation, Israel is building a mini superpower presence.  It is no accident, since the dawn of their nation, about 3,500 years ago,
    Israel has had a problem of finding loyal friends.

   Today they are surrounded by enemies (as they were 3,500 years ago) and surely they consider that Pres Trump a friend, but they have no guarantees that any future administrations would be a willing friend.

  Such could be a problem at anytime, e.g. the French refused to deliver fighter aircraft, just before their local conflict, so they don't want to be forced to depend upon anyone but themselves for weapons. 

  So long as they can produce quality weapons at a competitive price, they may as well market those weapons..it's what superpowers do..

If I were king of the world, or, Donald Trump with access to our military and Melania’s affections . I’d close our borders completely, no immigration whatsoever, kick out all undesirable’s, you know, guzzi and his ilk along with illegals etc, etc. then build our elite level military and do like the japs did with their samurai and send a group of between 50 up to 5000 and bloody a few noses around the world just for the hell of it from time to time…

  Perhaps you have noticed that  Trump is building a new "western alliance", which will extend as far as Japan, the Phlippines and Taiwan, then eastward to include the
     UK, if they get their act together.  France, Germany and the Benelux countries better do an about face or they will come up short.

  Scandinavia is just starting to catch on, but That female PM, Georgia Meloni in Italy, is a Trump believer.
