It does appear that the new Pope wants to return the Roman Catholic church to a place nearer it's 1st and 2nd century roots.  He seems to bring their efforts back
closer to their origins, a simpler, closer connection with the people, operating less with a grandiose hierarchy. Perhaps being the first American pope has meaning.

Not being a Catholic, I would have no right or reason to offer opinion, other than that The move seems to be back toward a more conservative organization
If so, some mainline protestant church organizations need just such a man to be installed in their top office.

I figure that it may be in the near future, that all who worship and honor the name of Jesus Christ, will be forced to stick together, so we should be acquainted with the issues we all share, one way or another.

AS I told our people a message or two ago...I never was one for wearing jewelry or any kind of "bling".  ..But these days you will see me wearing a cross on my old dog tag chain.

Not because I have suddenly decided to wear bling, but because it is quickly coming to the point where we should declare where we stand.

The Islamists are showing their cult as much as possible, so I figure it is important to stake our claim for America, letting them know that American people still basically
   worship and honor Jesus.

I only wish I could gather the support of others of the same persuasion.... wearing their cross.

Thereby symbolically answering (Matthew 16:24)   "24 Then Jesus told his disciples, “If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me."
