Tattoos
« on: November 11, 2025, 01:39:11 AM »
Had a guy probably in his late 20s walk up to me Saturday at a Burger King parking lot of all places wanting me to give him some money for gas. He wasn't in a car, and there wasn't a gas station in sight. I tried to ignore him, but he wasn't going to let me. I asked him if he had a job, and he said no, but I also noticed that he had a rather ornate tattoo on his right arm all the way down to his wrist, and several more on his other arm.
I told him that I wasn't gonna give him any money, but suggested he sell one of those tattoos. I got the F-bomb and he stomped off looking for a handout from someone else.
I don't have anything against tattoos (don't have any myself), but my understanding is that tattoos are expensive. I don't understand why folks that don't have 2 nickels to rub together think they need tattoos.  :-\

A guy I know a few years ago had a tat done on an arm. The damn thing cost so much, he had it done in stages. He was having trouble making ends meet, but just had to have that thing carved into his arm.

Some of my Army buddy's had them done, but I never got drunk enough to do it. My old skin looks like crap today, but I came by it naturally. No INK!

As a youngster I thought about getting a tattoo, and then I thought about it some more.

It amazes me to see people that don't have a pot to piss in, yet are covered in expensive tats. If you have the money to burn, and want to get tats. Have at it. I never thought about getting a tattoo, and never will. I have always thought many get them for an attention grabber. Like a hey look at me thing. Not all, but definitely some.

I'm not sure what their reasoning is, my oldest son has both arms covered, with numerous tattoos that have nothing to do with each other. I've never asked him why because none of'em make any sense to me.

From what I’ve been told they’re addictive. Something about the pain of the needle. I almost got one when the other guys in the barracks went to town for them. Then I remembered my Dad pulling his shirt sleeve down all the time to cover his bulldog head in a camo helmet with usmc on top and devil dogs on the bottom. Good lesson for me as telling me not to do it would not have been as effective…

Well, think about how many people stand out side a homeless shelter, smoking.

Don't have nothing, but they got cigarettes.....

Over twenty years in the service and thought many a time about getting one but having a wife and scraping for a living I just couldn't justify getting one. Now just looking at people with them I wonder why myself. Especially good looking women. Just don't understand it myself. But like drugs I guess it's up to the individual.

It's funny how folks think. I had a call me and ask if he could ride out to the ranch with me. It was early morning and I stopped at a convenience store for breakfast. I got back into my truck and he started scolding me for getting a fried fruit pie with me having type 2 diabetes.
I pointed out to him that he was a cancer survivor scolding me with a mouth full of stuff. He dropped the subject.

Yes have noticed many attractive women with tats. Can't figure out why.

I've yet to see any woman that was
made more attractive by tattoos.

Or radical cosmetic surgery as well

Another thing I see is these people panhandling in parking lots. Day in and day out. They’ll sit there with their sign while they talk on their nice phones. Some have nice stylish prescription glasses on. I have to wonder how they afford all that. None of that’s cheap.

There has been a guy pan handling at a local hwy exit here for a couple years and living in the woods next to it. Just found a body, possibly him as I haven’t seen him lately. I talked to him once at a local store and probably just mental issues as he never appears to be high or intoxicated.

Like many here I've thought of getting tattoos but never have.  :-\  Most of my Club Brothers have them but I never saw one that called to me enough to make me want to cover up any of my beautiful, natural man bod!   ;D

I was class commander of my jump school class in the Army and when we graduated a number of my troopers got some sort of airborne tattoos.  I guess they saw it as one of the privileges of being jump qualified.  Like wearing bloused boots with their dress greens and a glider patch sewn on their garrison caps.

And, no matter how popular tattoos now are, or as comely as she may be, a woman with tattoos is an automatic turn off to me.  call me old fashioned... :P
