Unfortunately, we have in general, a "dumbass" generation, who have no grasp of the cruelty, abundant flaws, and rank stupidity of Communism.
It's not entirely their fault, because unless the self-educated since the fall of the iron curtain, they would have little knowledge of it, since history is no longer a
recognizable course of study in today's classrooms.
Anyone born as far back as the mid 1980s, unless they had a good teacher at home or studied on their own..are grossly ignorant of Communism's many faults.
Central planning never works well. It didn't work well in the old Soviet Union.. One reason, what works well at the western end of Russia at the Belarus or Ukraine end,
may not work well at arctic Uelen, some 7,000 miles away.
Government ownership of manufacturing, rules out the motivator of capitalism, so nobody really tries harder than absolutely necessary.
The expression by workers in the old Soviet Union .."we pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us".. had a sound basis.
Back in the 1970s, the Soviets once had a big dream that they were going to flood the west, including America, with cheap farm equipment, driving the likes of IH and Deere out of business selling tractors at a 35-50% discount. ..But they couldn't picture how American farmers had certain demands that no Commie country could meet.
