The mysterious Zoar Valley..
« on: Yesterday at 12:40:52 PM »
I couldn't find the mysterious happenings in the outdoors forum, so I'm posting here.  This valley really starts about 16 miles from my house.

I have not experienced the "unusual" there, but many claim to have.  Many years ago, folks who dwelt in the valley were quite reclusive, some with good reason.

Many tales of ghosts and apparitions.

Folks from the city come out on summer day trips, but they only scratch the surface of all available trails and byways.

I went to high school in the town on this end of the gorge..and heard tales of claw footed folks etc, who lived deep in the valley..  Here is their sad story :

  Other tales abound..

Id bet all those ghosts and goblins could be dealt with, with a bullet.

There arec still some remnants of old, stone age "Indian forts" in the valley.  We don't know if they were truly forts...but it seems a good description of the remains.

How old are these stone age Indian forts?

The European neolithic, or late stone age ended with the advent of the bronze age..which began about 3200 BC.  For the American Indians, it was much later.
