Chicago! 54 Shot, 8 Shot & Killed!

Mayor, and Governor say. We don't need Trumps help, crime is under control. 

I used to post this information on a weekly basis, but it was never ending, and redundant for the city of Chicago. The voters of Chicago don't seem to care, and their leadership choices seem to get more radical with every election.
Linda and I, years ago, when we owned trucks, delivered a load of paper inserts to the Chicago Tribune. We had to call security there an hour in advance. As I was backing our trailer into their unloading dock, a young black guy jumped up on the step and announced a robbery. He unfortunately reached into the window and grabbed my steering wheel. I did everything I could to break that arm, and then dumped him on the ground. After I got out and pulled his jacket over his head, he  got away. A businessman across the street came over with a pistol, and stood there until we were unloaded.
A Chicago police officer was parked a block away facing us and never responded. When I walked up to him to ask why, I saw he was watching a ball game on a small TV on his dashboard.

My point? Chicago has needed help for a long time.

One of the very few places in this great land that I have never visited or even wanted to. There is a handful of others that I refuse to visit, and a strange thing is, they are all liberal cities, go figure.

On a per capita basis they aren't even in the running with southern cities. Jackson, MS is #1 and Birmingham, AL is #2 in the nation on a per capita basis. But being much smaller cities than Chicago their total deaths and shootings are far less. Rarely does a day go by that Birmingham TV stations don't report shootings and murders in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and surrounding area.

Yeah not long ago I watched a video about the crime in Jackson. Part of it was about a gas station being robbed a number of times, and the city officials were blaming the owner for making it to easy to rob. Could have something to do with 80% of Jacksons population is black.

I think I get Graybeards point concerning Chicago versus Jackson Mississippi. That point being, why Chicago instead of Jackson. Publicity?
I think I've said this before, and at the expectation of drawing fire, will say again. I supported Trump, and still do, but putting troops on street corners makes me nervous.

The mayor of Chicago is an ELECTED mayor. The citizens of Chicago put him in office.

Again,  MY POINT. All these blue states, and blue cities, have chosen their own direction at the ballot box. The Un-United States government has been bailing out failed governments in Europe for over a hundred years now. Only to watch them do the same things over again. Are we now sending in troops to force our policies on elected city,  and state governments? It's a fine line to be walking.

Revolution, and change, comes from within. Countries, and people change when they see the need, not when someone tries to force them into it. JMO

 Remembered there is a website called Hey Jackass that keeps a rolling tab on murder/homicides in Chicago. 293 so far this year. Detroit is closer to me, so see more info on that city, which is 81 so far this year. So, to remember how bad it was years ago, looked up the worst year for both. Happened to be 1974 for both city's. 970 killed in Chicago, and 714 in Detroit. Compared to over 50 years ago, they've calmed down some.
