never travel right after the forth and how can some of you do it

had to take the wife down to grand rapids for an operation today we left yesterday anndthe 6 hour ride took 12! bumper to bumper 30mph on the (censored word) freeway going south out of the UP. north lanes were about empty!! one hour wait at the bridge, finaly the traffic lightened about a 150 miles away. then rain hit and i mean rain!! traffic to a crawl and even stopped right on 4 lane highways. you couldnt see cars 30 feet away! hit 3 cells like that that lasted about 20 minutes each. so bad cars were breaking down on the highway and a couple idiots didnt even push them off the road and that backed up the insane traffic even more! cleared off about 20 miles from here. then we get here and no exaggeration theres niggers on EVERY corner begging for money. one tried to wash my windshield and i told him if he touched my truck id shoot him! then we see one idiot handing one of them money, he takes it pulls out his CELL PHONE and sends a text and walks away. no doubt to buy drugs. begging on the flipping corner but can afford a cell phone!! told lisa i shake my head at her kids. one lives in detroit and one in sacremento. who the f--k in their right mind would want to raise kids in a city!!! couldnt even let them play in the back yard let alone find a bit of woods to play in. 3 more days of this (censored word) crap!! then they have rooms for 40 bucks for paitents, decent room but the ac was stuck on high and every time the compressor cycled it sounded like a bunch of marbles were in it for about a minute. i cant sleep in a strange bed anyway but every time i dozed off that (censored word) ac woke me up. I WANT TO GO HOME!!!! home where theres trees and only two lane roads. where i can leave my keys in my vehicles and have never locked my house! if the would have offered me 3 times what i made working to live like this i would have laughed. this isnt even a big city. i couldnt imagine detroit or nyc or LA or dallas!! all ill ever do is imagine because id rather swim at the sewage plant than even do this small city!! if it takes more than 2 lanes for traffic theres TO MANY PEOPLE!!

     My Father 90 plus percent of the time  ,took us on a family vaction over the 4th of July time span.
Now that was 45 to 55 years ago and there were fewer people and cars, but the freeway was mostly not complete.
I remember well, the train of cars going up the Rockies at 40mph and 65 going down, curves and all.

     My last camping trip with him was '95 going to Sturgis, SD the week before the Sturgis Ralleye
 A lot of traffic and most interesting.
