  AI..Artificial Intelligence;  Over the last few weeks, I have used the AI information provided to Google, to back some media accounts.  I won't be doing that much anymore.  Or else I shall point out their edited remarks.

 Reason?  As far as I can see, their AI is no better than the old "fact checkers". I suppose it is the same old story with data handlers, as it was earlier with computer programmers.  It sure looks like AI's "facts".

  Story coming out that Pres Trump may deny fed rebuilding funds to those cities that did not adequately control rioters to keep damage to a minimum. In the past, knowing how the usually preferred (lefty) media sites would slant the story, I would ask Google the question..followed by a request for Fox News or New York Post, to get the right side of the story.

  So as usual, i asked about Trump's refusal..followed by "Washington Examiner", the counter to the left's Washington post.. instead of giving me the Examiner, AI decided to editorialize the article from the Examiner.

I have gotten many answers that site so-and-so says, or that it cannot find any information online to answer my question, SO, it starts making generalization answers- I.E. it starts guessing.

Fortuanately there are search engines that do not use AI.

  Yes; all sources must be checked out.  It seems that AI or Alexis do well if they only repeat answers verbatim from the news, but when the editorialize, that's different.

   Yes; as with the original computers..the proponents of AI try to praise it's possibilities, and how 'advanced' it is.  The real truth seems to hearken back to just as dee pointed out "garbage in garbage out...except this AI can be downright dangerous..

I think that death of the human race by AI will be after I am gone (presently 71 and in diminishing health).  The Covid virus has already done significantly greater harm to me than I think AI ever will. In another 10 years I may know more.

Or, if death by AI is our fate, I hope I am already gone.  The Evil ones teaching an army of drones to kill is not a great feat. AI killing us to keep itself "turned on" is probably already too late to avoid. Besides, we already have the capability and know-how to destroy all life on this planet (A- & H-bombs).

As "succulants" (certainly not hardwoods) in the environmental world, humans are water dependant and fragile. We may make "hard things" that give us the preception of protection, however it is mearly a figment of our imagination.

Recently, Iran dug itself into its own grave - a "mole hole" from which we won't have to cover up their nuclear debris.

We have tried and used Grok AI developed by Elon Musk.  It is factual, accurate, and is weird by being sensitive and having empathy when you tell it about you or someone you loves health conditions.  It's initial voice is a woman, very nice speaking.  I supposed they allow you to give it a male voice, but haven't checked.  It can actually carry on a conversation with you.  Musk worked about 6 hours the other night working in it's programming.  He said they are ready to released Grok 4.  You can download it within X.  Ask it any question and get a great answer.  It is way better than Google, except maybe with maps.

I was having low blood pressure and afib.  I told Grok what meds I was taking.  He suggested lowering my dosage of a certain medicine.  I just went to the heart doctor and told him what was happening, but not about Grok.  He lowered the bp meds that Grok suggested.  It worked.  Is it going to replace doctors.  Probably in the near future.  It searches all the publications, research papers, encyclopedias, etc, that are on line to give you answers.  It's searching is fast.  It is totally amazing.  Because Musk is now neutral or considered conservative, I trust Grok over Chat or Google's AI.  Grok gives the conservative side.  The others do not. 

Someone asked Grok and the other AI's which is more dangerous hate for LBGTQ or nuclear war.  Grok said nuclear war.  The other's said hate for LBGTQ.  This is dangerous.  If you use an AI, use Grok not the others.  Musk said congress should make laws to make AI balanced and with free speech.  Congress is just ignoring him.  Musk said AI could destroy humanity if left unchecked.  Watch the movie I Robot.  Musk is worried about a situation like this.

guess we can die 200 years from now by ai or let china and russia get so far ahead of us with it it happens in 20 years . at this point we have only those choices. we can stick our heads in the sand like the left that wants only clean energy while china and russia put new coal power plants on line every week or we can stay ahead of them. you may not like it but its here to stay. this comes from a guy that doesnt even carry a cell phone.

   Doesn't this go to prove my point that for a good share of the AI venues are no more "factual" than the old "fact checkers"...  In other words, back again to "garbage in, garbage out" !

  I am not adroit enough with the newest technology, so I don't tinker with AI.. and many other frills. My son uses it in his business for certain things.

  I can see where it will gradually degrade the value of certain college classes, since for instance, AI can write a lecture or thesis for a lazy student, with a minimal input from the student himself......

I just suggest to all that they should consider, and think about, the very first word in the term "AI".

Yup......."artificial"....not real....just a shadow that kind of appears to be the real thing.

  Yes, much like the nuclear age !  We often wish that the nuclear age had not enveloped the world, forwarding the possibility of such mass destruction and possibly the erasure of civilization itself.  ..But here it is, along with other threats science has provided..such as Petri dish designed plagues, cloning, and political brain fogs, such as Marxism.

  So; it looks like the more we "progress", the more we regress in some ways.  A "tiger by the tail", for sure.

That view is what's called predestination. I'm not a believer in predestination. I do not believe that GOD cuts our lives short. I will not disagree that he knows when we'll die. I do totally disagree that he picks or chooses when we die or how. He has given us freewill.

We have freewill to believe or not believe and also freewill in the path we take that leads to our demise. I don't agree when folks say GOD took our loved ones from us or HE needed them to be with HIM in heaven.

I guess we do all have an expiration date which I do agree is known to GOD, I just do not believe he assigns us that expiration date, knows when it will be yes, but doesn't chose when we go or how. Just knows it. To be what most of us CHRISTian's our GOD is, HE has to be all knowing. But I do not believe HE is cruel or unjust nor so I believe HE gives us illness or disease to take our lives. Knows we'll get it sure, but doesn't decide it for us.

I respect the right of others to believe differently than me or to not believe in a Supreme creator at all if they don't chose to. If we who believe are right those who chose not to believe are gonna be in a heap of trouble when they die. But if they are right and we are wrong we'll all be on equal footing at death. But the decision is each of ours to make right or wrong.

i dont understand Bill. you say he knows the date. so if he knows it how could i change it without proving God wrong? If he is all knowing than its a fact your day entering and leaving this earth has been determined for you before your mother was even born. either that or he doesnt know everything and makes mistakes. he knows the date stamped in your book. the free will is how you use that time. He did say "i knew you before you were born" doesnt that imply he knows everything about you including how and when you die?but then thats just the opinion of a struggling Christian.
