S&W FPC .40cal.
« on: May 02, 2025, 07:37:12 AM »
Glad I waited a bit. Wanted to get a .40 carbine, and was thinking of the KelTec. Instead, picked up a S&W FPC a while back, and finally got to the range now that the weather warmed up.(Getting old sucks-use to go shooting no matter how cold) Anyway, run close to 200 rounds thru it, only had 1 jam. I mix my ammo, so I'm going say it needs more breaking in. Mixed 165 plated, 165hp, and 170 cast.(I use a 170 gr. Lee 6 cavity mold) After sighting in,kept everything on a 6'' plate at 50 yds no problem. Next time out, move the plate back to 100 yds. and see what we can do there. Optic is a Burris FastFire RD with a 2 moa dot. With that cartridge, I figure if I can get it on target at around 100 yds, I'll use Kentucky windage at any distance past that. Like the cowboys of the late 1800's, having a pistol and a rifle shoot the same cartridge seemed like a good idea. Comes with 2-15rd and 2-20rd mags. And I tried a couple of the 15rd mags that I have for my M&P. Nice!!
We keep trying peace, it usually doesn't work!!Remember(12/7/41)(9/11/01) gypsyman

very cool and fun gun. probably my favorite gun to shoot is my 8.5in 40 ar pistol. no slouch either as that extra barrel length puts full  power 40 loads at 10mm levels and you 16 eill give it even more. i wouldnt be afraid to use it on deer black bear and hogs with that 170 lee bullet. i killed two deer with that bullet out of my glock 20. didnt seem to smack them like a 44 pistol but they both died within sight range and with the 2-400 fps advantage you will get in that carbine id bet it puts it in the same league as a 44 pistol for killing power. im a big 40 fan. love all my 40 handguns and probably my favorite semi auto of all time is the glock 22.
