Good questions.  Usually trade deficits are a slow drain of our wealth out of our country.  Trade surpluses bring money into your country.  Economics 101.  Fair trade is equal value for equal value.  We have been shafted ever since the first "Free Trade" agreement in 1992 or 93.  Just like Ross Perot said, our factories left and we imported more.  Very little do we still make.  In the mid 1970's Carter did have a law passed that cars have to be at least 50% made in the US.  This has kept the auto industry here.  However, textiles, shoes, even computers and computer chips are made overseas now.  The final nail was in 1998 with China, which finally destroyed the textile industry here.

Be patient. Everything that President Trump is putting into action will create the desired effect. It will take a little time and the "Chicken Little's" to settle down.

Those, Including the wretched, lick spittle, fake news networks and the hair-on-fire liberal left, that are looking for a "quick fix" are in fact looking for a "gotcha moment" against the president. Ignore the hell out of the FNN's, the DNC, and the democratic left. Their voice is proven to be nothing but lies and that they are currently doing exactly that which they want to paint on someone else.

We should ostracize and ignore the FNN's and liberal left until their actions and shrill reach a disproportion to local, State, and Federal law, (or your and my tolerance), at which point we confront or arrest the protesters as MIGHT is not RIGHT.

I do not care that SCOTUS has declared the burning, trampling, and defacing of our American flag to be "an acceptable form of protest". They try that carp near me and I will mix it up with them.

I am a proud American. A Native Son of Florida. A former USCG Standard Bearer and Colors Captain at USCG Base Cape May, New Jersey where I learned how to treat and deeply respect the fabric of our Republic. Those flag colors mean more to me than the life's blood of any protester willing to disgrace them.

I took an irrevocable oath to support and defend our Constitution against all enemies both foreign and domestic. I am willing to support more conservative intolerance against protestors that basically hate America. Deport them. Let them taste what they are asking. Send them to some a-hat place (Haiti?) that will appreciate their added overcrowding, their naive and ignorant World View, where poverty rules and whiners drool. Don't work...don't eat. Die a fool's death.

Though at heart I have always been a Lover, put me in Coach.  I am ready to bar fight against those seeking stupid prizes while playing their stupid games. Who is with me?

I'm not sure Trump has time.  There is an election coming in less than 2 years.    If the economy is perceived as bad then a lot of people will vote with their wallet.
The Left wing media is going to try and paint a grim picture, deserved or undeserved.

Historically, the opposing party makes gains during the mid terms.  If the Demorats take either the house or the senate, the legislation slows to a crawl and/or stalls.

China thinks long term. The 5 year plan.  The USA is quarter to quarter.  Trump needs to score some wins on the Tariffs quickly.  from a Chinese perspective, if they can wait  a few years, Trumps gone and perhaps they get someone who's friendlier towards them.  America blows with the political winds.  Wait awhile, and the wind will shift.

It's hay season.  Trump and the republicans need to make hay and get it in the barn before the season changes.  That's a problem for them.  They can't seem to get everyone on board.  The few radical republicans will block legislation because it doesn't have every thing they want in it.   This has been a big "lose" for them.  The Democrats fight like hell with each other and then vote as a block.  The Republicans could learn something from them in this regard.

The republicans have the house, senate and whitehouse.  Last time, other than the tax bill, they didn't make hay much less get it in the barn.  The republicans have a huge leadership problem that they can't seem to work out.  I they can find someone the step up and actually lead then they have the opportunity to make some great changes.  If they continue along the same lines as they have in the past, we'll get little to nothing.

It's what we have, Victor C...

We may wish we have 4 years to make the common sense approach work.. but what we have, is what we have..

Keep in mind, we were headed for a complete collapse of this greatest republic the world has ever known ! ..But if anybody can pull off the needed
master stroke, Trump, Musk and the smartest presidential cabinet I have ever seen, have the best and likely, the only chance to do it !

They have made reemarkable progress thus far..and don't underestimate the intelligence of many working class people out there.

Not all are so blind, deaf and dumb as most party hacks and some brain dead "educators"..
If you don't want the truth, don't ask me.  If you want something sugar coated...go eat a donut !  (anon)

I don't believe the Chinese can wait 2 yeas for tariffs to relax and allow their repriced products back into United States markets. By then, We The People won't want or need rheir cheap-a** carp.

Look at the scoreboard. The a-hat media remains 0 wins to 250+ for 47th President Donald J. Trump in Conservative victory after victory as COMMON SENSE puts out the dumpster fire of a-hat media and democrat misinformation, after Appeals Court overturns Lower Court ruling, after SCOTUS affirms Presidential Rule of Law interpretations, after TRUTH is no longer suppressed.

It is no longer conspiracy theory if contradictory misinformation is, in fact, true. Conservatives know(!!!!) that contradictory misinformation spread by the Democrats and clarioned by their a-hat media is in fact true.

Conservatives though have developed no "Bully Pulpit" from which to excoriate the mind-numbed Democrat Voting Block - WAKE UP AMERICA!!!! Perhaps conservatives owning Social Media is the way forward alIthough 1st Amendment suppression will never be an acceptable alternative or rebuttal.

Ignoring, ostrasizing, never spoken of again, and forgetting (out of mind) the offensive participant(s) is an Amish punishment with significant force and effect.  It is the community's equivalent of the 1987 Southern Methodist University NCAA Sudden Death rule in the words of the 1998 Brad Pitt / Anthony Hopkins movie "Meet Joe Black":
