I actually thought USAID was under the State Department. I can't see any real problem with that, it would give us the possibility to get some value for the investments.

So far half a trillion found in tax payers dollars wasted in USAID spending. Yet the democrats are taking a stand against Trump from looking into the corrupt dealings of USAID.  Basically Trump asked USAID department for an itemized receipt, and USAID said no. Just some of the spending was for 1.5 million to advance DEI in Serbia work places. 11 million for a sesame street workshop in Iraq. 70K for a DEI musical in Ireland. 47K for a transgender opera in Columbia. 32K for a transgender comic book in Peru. 2 million for sex changes in Guatemala. 6 million to fund tourism in Egypt. At least a million sent through channels to fun gain of function research in Wuhan.  This spending is just the tip of the iceberg.

The investment >might< be worth it, depending on WHAT is being improved on.
(Judging by the other expenditures, I don't hold out much hope for a good return on investment.)

  From the testimonies I heard on Real America News, that Sesame street program in Iraq, came to $20 million all tolled !  How on God's green earth
  do they find enough places to stuff money, to bring the "cost" up into the 5 figure millions?

  Perhaps  if we could see exactly where trthay are stuffing money, we may be very surprised.

  On second thought, perhaps we wouldn't be surprised at all !

  Sen Joni Ernst testified that she went over to the offices of USAID, and tried to find where they were stuffing money..and she was rudely rebuffed.

     All those millions would likely help more, bringing aid to North Carolina , Tennessee and water to the parched areas of California.
