New T/C coming out
« on: January 17, 2025, 04:13:43 AM »
Went to the new company website. Not sure if it was my computer or what? When I clicked on the accessory link or contact link, it just popped up unsecure site. Anybody else? Thinking of getting a 14'' bull in .357 mag.,  and have it reamed out to .360 DW. Not much different but I have a bunch of the brass and would like to give it a try.

What new company site? I haven't seen anything about TC being sold to anyone. As far as I've  heard it's still owned by S&W who has no plans for it other than to hopefully find a buyer. Has someone bought TC?

Seen a couple of ads on Facebook and people making some comments about it. Googled T/C Arms and there is a website, but I think it's still under construction. Click on it, and there's about a minute and a half video, of I assume the new owner talking about it. 2 links on top, accessories and the other says contact. When I clicked, both said this was an unsecured connection, or something like that, so I just closed out. Just thought somebody else with better 'puter skills than me could figure it out.

It does appear some movement is happening regarding TC. The video indicates new owners tho it doesn't mention who. I doubt S&W is behind this so I'm guessing someone finally bought out S&W's share of the company and brand name.

It does say that there will be a new product line for 2025 and the video shows both the Encore line and the bolt action rifles they were making. Dunno if the Contender will be renewed tho.

Sure not much info on it for the moment.

The Facebook page seems to have some action there and kinda, sorta, more or less makes ya think the company isn't totally dead. But it also says that S&W is responsible for the page.

So that could mean S&W is bringing the brand back or could just mean the new owners if in fact there are new owners hasn't yet taken over the page.

I sure find nothing definitive but it does look like in 2025 some new TC stuff is likely to happen.

It's my understanding that a former owner bought it back from S&W, but I forget their name.

Owner's name is Gregg Ritz. Looks like he is the owner of an outdoor website called Wild Communications.

Don't hold your breath.
I've been hearing about new T/C this
and that and new CVA this and that
for some time now. Similar to all the
new blah blah blah lever action this
and that from Marlinger.
Many don't remember, but I still remember
the hoopla about the grand and glorious
Mossberg SSi-One single shot break action
with all the barrels that were supposed to
be available. All these years later, I've still
yet to see one or hold one in person.
About the same thing with the Deerfield 44
rifle never saw or laid hands on one.
I'm glad that I got to buy the Handi rifles
that I did before the Remington corporate
types ran them in the ditch
18 MINUTES.  . . . . . .

I on the other hand believe it’s a good thing the owner is taking his time instead of just releasing products on a non hungry market. Plenty of frames, barrels, stock sets and bases and rings on the market. Anything put on the market needs to be of quality and fairly priced or IMO won’t turn a profit. I also believe that we will again see TC products, which ones is up to what will be purchased, not what a few want...

Yep, agree. Maybe a few things they might consider is upgrading some of the old products. Be nice to order a 10'' or 14'' barrel that's already threaded for a suppressor. Some of the newer cartridges that in the last couple years have come out. Have different scope mounts for optics. Maybe a custom shop that could do alterations for a specific set up.

An update to an older thread, there is a “new” company offering Encore products at the moment.  They are real as retailers like MidwayUSA are selling receivers and barrels.  It is rumored that pistols and Contenders are in the works.  As many are aware, SSK has also been selling their own version of Contender receivers for some time.

..Not sure of the company status, but I bought a TCR22 2-3 years ago, and am eminently pleased with it. It is of course another redo of the 10/22 but so very well done, that I am pleased with every bit of it.

TC started with the 10/22 concept and improved greatly...doing those things, 10/22 owners often do to add usefulness to their 10/22.  Strating with a Magpul stock, they add a receiver rear and green fiber optic front sight, with picatinny rail milled into the receiver.

TC pre bores a hole in the rear of the receiver..for easier cleaning form the rear.  No need to buy a magazine ejection lever, since it comes with one.

A 10 round magazine with last round stop feature comes with the rifle...but since I never just "fire for effect", I normally use my Ruger magazines, since loading the TC magazine is a PIA (IMO).   Accuracy is superb..as I recall, it was about $50 more than the standard 10/22.

Thanking Bill Ruger for the wonderful design, and TC for the  added features and much cleaner machine work (IMO)..I hope TC keeps making their TCR22.

If perchance they don't, I'm not worried about parts, since Ruger parts interchange with it !
