I bet the bullet is powerful enough, but I am sure this little number would double as a flame thrower for the first few feet from the muzzle.

You don't get an idea from the picture just how big this "snub nose" really is, until you see how small the hammer is in relation to the rest of it. The overall length is 10 1/2", and weighs 56oz.

And a 4" ported barrel?? Better wear "Game Ears" or something similar if you ever carry it, or the first shot will be the last thing you ever hear.

Ok, I want one...

And ya better have a good stout belt and holster, or yer skivvies will be around yer ankles. But seriously, wouldn't a Blackhawk or Freedom Arms with a thumper load in 44,45, 454, etc. be a little more practical and portable?

Well, OK, practical has never been an issue with me, either, but haven't we gone to the point of "HUZZAH! MINE CODPIECE IS BIGGER THAN THINE!!!"

But then again, maybe in a 5" barrel without porting??? :grin:

I conseal carry both my 5 1/2" and 7 1/2" ruger redhawks with shoulder holsters. The reason is my 357 snubbie pulls my panst down all the time and with that cannon being heavier your going to wear suspenders anyway so why not a shoulder holster. I'd go with the longer barrel its less punishment on the body as well as the ears. BigBill

Here is as big as I go in a snubnose. It is a Dan Wesson 445 Supermag. The round has the same case length as the S&W 500, but the caliber is just the itty bitty 44. (The picture shows a 445 Supermag round beside a standard 44 Mag round for comparison. The gun also shoots the 44 Mag, 44 Spec, and the 44 Russian rounds.) I also have a 6 inch and a 8 inch scoped barrel for the same gun. You just gotta love that Dan Wesson interchangeable barrel system.

I carry that for bear protection, but it will do against predators no matter if they are 2 legged or 4 legged.

The last I recall, Dan Wesson wanted nearly $1000 for the compensated 4", about $900 for one like the picture above. I have seen them new or close to it on gunbroker.com and auctionarms.com for between $650 and $800 (sometimes less for an older model). I got mine off auctionarms.com and I got a great deal. Dan Wessons are usually a real bargain used. That is how I buy mine.

Gatefeo: I dunno but have you see the article on the EAA 72 Magnum - it's sorta like a double barrelled shotgun handgun. A real crowd pleaser, so to speak (LOL). Mikey.
