So thats what I shoot in it mostly cowboy loads 7 or 8 grains of 231 and a 250 rnfp loaded on my dillin square deal press. Nothing fancy but a lot of fun. I had a custom basket stamped crosdraw holster made just for this gun which took over a year to get from the day I ordered it. It has a 4 didget serial number. I love the gun and its finsh and workmenship are breathtaking. I certainlu will never part with it. One of my many 45s and certainly a favorite.(Remind me some day to tell you about my EMF bislet colt bulldog in 45 colt with a 2 3/4" barrel and the floral carver holster I have for that gun shoots a bit to the left through.

Thanks for the info Jim.  I wasn't sure if the Scolfield was chambered in the .45 Colt or a shortened .45 case.  I've had a time with custom ordered stuff myself.  Lee reloading has been the fastest to return custom ordered items.  I once ordered a custom seating plug to fit a Hornady XTP bullet and it only took them 17 days from the time I sent the bullet example 'till I had the custom seater in my die!  Wish all companies were that efficient.  Thanks again..............................Mike

custom Revolver stuff than contender barrels most folks order. After reading all the crap they put up with I think I will stick to either used custom barrels or T/C barrels from Fox Ridge or T/C they may not be perfect but if I order a barrel from Eds I get it in less than a week NOT 6 months to a year like some folks wait for a barrel from any one of the custom houses. (and the prices they charge! If marlin can make H&R barrels for $85 then a T/C barrel should not cost that much more especually not $460!!!!

Me? I'll stick to Eds and factory barrels
Most shoot better than I can anyway.

Just got my new 45 ruger this week. Can't wait to go to the range Saturday and try it out with my handloaded lead bullets. I used 225 gr with 6 gr of titegroup. Does anyone have a favorite load?

My gun likes 8.2gr Unique under 255gr RNFP.  I try and use Starline cases and WLP primers.  Every Unique load I've shot through this gun has been very accurate.  I do not believe I could improve on the groups with another combination.  nase02,  Let us know how your loads and gun shoots!  Thanks foe posting....................Mike
