Where do you find out about "special run" rifles
« on: March 20, 2004, 08:27:36 PM »
In another post here someone has found a Rem 700 Mountain Rifle in 25-06, a special run.  Someone responding has found Rem 673 in 243, special run....  Wal-Mart has laminated stocked Rem 700 ADLs from time to time, again, not in the Remington catalog....

I'm a non-standard kinda guy, I like something a little different, these would qualify as "a little different" to me but I never can find them in time, myself and the goofs at Wal-Mart can't tell/won't tell me what calibers the laminated ADL comes in...

Where do you see these or find out about them?  Would a "good" dealer be privy to these and be able to order me one?

A good place to start would be the Davidson's and Lipsey's websites------a lot of times they have special runs made up.

My dealer knows I like Remingtons and Smith & Wessons so he lets me know. Smith is running a special run of 686's with a standard length barrel under lug and a 5 1/2 " barrel. Last year was a model 29 mountian gun 4". Your local gun shops not Walmart should know. Hope that helps.

It would be nice if it were that easy....  If you can find a 25-06 mountain rifle, a 243 model 673 or a laminated ADL on the Remington site you're doing better than me.  While they do have the "new for 2003" guns listed there, it is no longer 2003.....

Wpayne your dealer should know. The distributer lets him know and he tells me. But he knows what I like. You won't find it on a site.
