Something new,for those who must use straight wall rifle cartridges ?

Tell the idiot if he wants to compare straight walls to use some core bon 4570 or even for sure factory 444 ammo and it would put that one to shame. I noticed too in his stupid comparison when shoot the 4570 he hit the bottle of the block at near the top of the table and kept sayin he took the top off of it and hit the 360 block dead on. Im sure some paid advertisement from remington. Either way to use it you have to buy one of those over a grand priced marlins rugers is trying to sell as some high end weapon.

  I noticed that the 45/70 did hit quite near the table..so the result was somewhat skewed.

  However, I suspect that either round would be more than enough to take deer or black bear, so perhaps
  the new round may offer all that is needed, and at less recoil and blast.

  I suppose just another version of the .357 Maxi or the 350 legend..but as an official factory loaded cartridge, I
    suppose the Buckhammer and Legend will sort themselves out in the market.

i agree both of them are more then capable at lever gun ranges of taking about any big game. But as to recoil i would suspect the old 4570 at factory corelock levels might even kick less then that gun. It sure isnt a shoulder brusier. Now ive loaded loads for marlins that lick the heals of a 458 mag. they KICK. my guess is it will end up just another flash in the pan chambering that 5 years from now you wont be able to find ammo or brass anywhere for. 4570 is going NO WHERE. Tell you the one that really gets no repect and deserves to be on top is the 444. It can be loaded for 44 special levels to bone crunching levels with the 340 grain ballistic cast lfn. It will flat hammer game one day and be pleasant for your grandaughter to shoot the next. by the way that clay test is bogus anyway. I can take a 22250 with a 55 grain varmint bullet and shoot it and explode it. Turn around and shoot it with a 458 mag round nose solid and drill a hole through it. Just advertising hype.

  I have a .450 Bushmaster in a Ruger American..that I bought on a whim, as I passed by the gun area in a local Walmart.
   It has plenty of power for anything in North America...but the shoulder and the ears pay the price!

  At 86, I can take the recoil, but part of that recoil is mitigated by a blast deflector, which makes the blast
  uncomfortable in more than one way.
   So I figure, why suffer all of this, when a less uncomfortable round will easily do the job?

  I was looking for another big game rifle, when  fell for that .450 bushmaster, I probably should have taken the
   Marlin 336, that was sitting in the rack beside it !
