Something to contemplate
« on: June 16, 2022, 07:22:57 AM »
With the harvest fast approahing for Ukraine... the nations of Europe don't want growling bellies for their kids.

That means, unless Putin backs down and scoots..the British Navy may once more, be facing down the Russian Navy.

It would likely be best, if Putin would just "cut and run.  Man for man, ship for shipe can't hold with the Btritish Navy, few navies can.
   https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/may/23/lithuania-calls-for-joint-effort-on-russia-black-sea-blockade
In my humble opinion, the UK Navy is likely the closest to ours  in the world, so far as quality is concerned.

Zeroing in on Odesa, Russia has 60 ships in the Black Sea..maybe 59, discounting the Moscova..

What is the "Queen" of naval warfare?  The aircraft carrier..that's what !  THe UK has 2 of them.. 1) HMS Queen Elizabeth  (60 planes) and the HMS Prince of Wales..(35@ of F35s ans  a bevy of choppers.

Russia has 1 carrier, the Admiral Kut-hiz-nutz-off.  ..But that is in dry dock, and it is almost a pemanent occupant of dry dock..they just can't keep it runing.

Prince of Wales is only in the Baltic sea, and it's planes only need to cross part of Poland, to get into action.

Nope...man for man, ship for ship..I wouldn't bet much against the rroyal navy..no matter who..

War mongering is a way to forget about the destruction of our country and feel somehow superior even while losing freedoms and rights in our country. Let’s fight, uh, I mean let’s have Ukraine fight to the last Ukrainian...

All of this is true, and harvest time will cause Europe to finally get off their butts and do something.

Probably a hidden blessing, that Europe MUST look out for their own interests, without relying on
  Uncle...Uncle Sam that is !

So, considering the relative capabilities of opposing naval forces is "war mongering"..

Then what do you call it when a supposed "super power", turns it's military might upon a  smaller, soveriegn neighbor ?

In this case. Well warned in advance. Necessity... Besides, last from the Zelensky/Biden “squad“. The Russians are stuck in the mud”, “Putin has bit off more than he can chew”, Russians are showing they are not capable of physically or monetarily able to sustain a war, Ha, ha, ha, pootin has brain cancer, pootin is a fool, pootin has run out of gasoline, etc, etc, add Nauseum, now per your statement. “A super power” which one is it? Ya can’t have it both ways and this is nowhere close to my argument on this subject. Just debating on your terms of engagement...

So, if we warned Trinidad & Tobago ahead of time... say give them 6 months or a year...  Then there would there be nothing wrong with going ahead with an invasion?  :D ;D

Note from above  ... You can insult Putin as much as you like, even insult his country.  It makes no difference, it is what it is.
Russian propagandists are continually reminding us that they have the second largest/strongest army in the world.  They boast of their "super tanks"(that often as not, have to be towed).  They insist that their airplanes are far and away the very best and most capable...and Putin himself, just recently reminded us that he has plenty of nuclear toys to play with.

One 10 billion dollar carrier - - one 250,000 dollar missile. Boom!

Hasn't happened yet..and theUS has had the super carriers all over the world, cruising all major coastlines.  ..And of course, I am sure you are aware that a carrier is not alone out there.  They are accompanied by cruisers, destroyers, submarines and a whole swarm of fighting aircraft...plud some AA defensive weapons that we may have no inkling of
We hav e more carriers in the works..if they were so vulnerable..there would be no such keels laid...

Mule ...>>>

Looks like the Russians are working with the Turks to clear the Black Sea and Bophorus of Zelenskyy's mines so shipping can resume in part. I don't think ship insurance covers losses by mines.

Yes, the Russians are not into naval aviation. You think they would be if they were into expansionist projection of power. But they are into defense from those who project naval power. Imagine three Sunburn missiles coming at you with1 kiliton warhead while 2 cavitating torpedoes are coming at you. Not good place to be.
We have the Truman carrier in the Aegean Sea but that means short sortie times over Ukraine. I don't think carriers can navigate the Dardanelles, nor would try it.

sly,  Do you seriously think the US Navy would send out a super carrier without what they believe to be adequate protection? We have no idea what is aboard our battle groups which attend and super carrier foray.  Sure, w have heard of some defense mechanisms.  There are likely, some defensive weapons which are under a cloak of secrecy.  DARPA is developing new stuff every day, an if there is a totally new system aboard.. we might never know, nor would 90% of the crew, the rest being under security clearance.

No doubt, if one were so vulnerable, they would not be laying keel for a new one.  During WW2, the battleship became obsolete in favor of the carrier.  The Japanese had a 3rd Yamato class battleship under construction...which they immediately switched over to become a carrier..but while transferring the hull, our aircraft caught and killed the uncompleted ship.

Btw, recent poll of Poles shows 60+% of citizens want to stay the he!! out of Ukraine.

..And about 98% (or more) would like RUSSIA to stay to hell out of Ukraine.
.
Meanwhile. Nicurauga has apparently invited Russian Army into country, ostensibly to get rid of US bio-labs. While Russia has accused Hunter and Joe of war crimes, principlely Nuremberg Code violations and International Bioweapon treaty violations.. To be presented in UN, but obviously ignored by legacy media here.

It would seem that Nicaragua could clear bio-labs out of their country if they so desired.
It sure seems like bio-labs are springing up around the world like daisies ..how many do we need?

So far as war crimes charges..I guess anybody can lodge them...it just remains to see if they stick..
.

Personally, lthough powerful, I have not considered Russia to be the "super power" it once was. For some reason..whether economic system, corruption or whatever, they hav enot come along economically as expected, since the fall of the USSR.  They may be a distant 3rd place super power, but i am not so sure. At present, they are not wealthy enough to be a super power.
Perhaps Biden's shutdown of our dominance in petroleum, could be construed as a "helping hand" for Putin!

We cannot afford to sit back and chortle either, since the falsity and corruption we are experiencing  at present . under the democrats watch, is little different.  If the federal government gets to completely control all information venues..and they are not far off..then they would be cleared for all out corruption..  ..And they are not doing too bad at it already.
