Finally have ripe strawberries. Half a dozen yesterday and enough today for strawberry shortcake which will be ingested shortly

I grew up in the sticks eating pie crust crumbled in my strawberries.
Now, I crumble Ritz crackers in them, or, I slop some berries on some ice cream.

Haven't tried to grow any
Used to be a patch here in the
pre-ant days many decades ago

If I want any fresh fruit from the
grocery store, I have to drive a decent
ways from the hood
Around here, the border jumpers help
themselves to fruit from the display
and will feed all the kids that are with
them and themselves. The closest store
here, they used to take one package of
fruit and empty it out into another to
try and get more and only pay for one,
but they're too stupid to realize that
there's a scale at each register and
they would catch a 12 ounce package
that weighed 30 ounces

2 dozen this morning and I had a few the kids split the rest. Had to use plan b on the whistle pig. He must have been trapped and let go...
