How many here, when born? Were fed baby formula?

Me and my siblings all born in '40s and 50s were nursed not bottle fed. All of my kids who came along in mid 60s to early 70s were nursed not bottle fed. All had real diapers on their butts too not the plastic things everyone uses now.

I was nursed and my pacifier was a chicken bone that my Mom cleaned off. :)

I was nursed, and my kids were nursed.  This panic about baby formula is kind of stupid.  Women who once had problems nursing used evaporated milk mixed with Karo syrup, like one tablespoon with the water mixed with the evaporated milk.  Also, goats milk is closer to human milk than cow milk, so they can also drink goats milk.  Millenials today don't know how to do anything it seems.  Sure if a woman has a job, she can use a breast pump and save the milk in sterilized bottles, even at a place of employment.  Surely they have a breakroom with a refrigerator to keep the milk in until they get home.  Pumped breast milk can be left in bottles for the babysitter or day care.  Extra work, but not hard to do.

Yep. My wife pumped breast milk and I didn’t find it hard at all :)

Of course I can't remember that far back but I don't think baby formula was available when I was born. I do know I wore cloth diapers and they are pretty tough. My mother kept them for cleaning delicate things after I no longer needed them and passed some to us when we married. Both of our children wore them and some are still here, used to clean delicate things.

Kids can do fine on cow's milk. Our kids and our daughter' kids survived just fine on it and are hale and hearty today.

I believe I was just fed raw cows milk, and I'm still living. today its a crime fro a farmer to sell raw milk.  Leave it to our intrusive government to protect us.

I can remember back in the 50s one or two of moms' friends being told by their doctor to go buy a goat when they either couldn't breasr feed, or cows milk was helping a sick baby.

My daughter is 47 now,  but I can remember her telling about some of her friends going to mothering classes before their babies were born.

This whole "formula crisis" is born out of the ignorance of the younger generation.

     Are our memories faulty?
Not that long ago, the formula formulators were being accused of gangsterism..

Perhaps the "socially conscious" millennial women, should boycott manufactured formulas...and use their own.
