The National Weather Service is reporting 100 degrees and 1% humidity right now. I think that makes it summer. It almost always hits 100 here in May but usually a few days later. At least the wind is light today. With the extremely low humidity and the light breeze it is pleasant outside as long as you are in the shade. I just came from the patio to make a cup of coffee. We don't even have the cooler running and it is nice inside with just a ceiling fan going. There are a lot of "but it's a dry heat" jokes but it really is different.

I prefer “well, at least it’s a dry rain” 60’s this week and that is too hot for me. I guess if you are sitting in the shade sippin sweet tea hot weather is pleasant. And yes, there is a huge difference between dry heat and humid heat.

Same here. After the two rains we got the grass is coming up. Been over 100 degrees a couple a times, but sat in the shade yesterday at a great nephews ball game and it was great.

At 1% humidity, if you spit it would evaporate before it hit the ground.
