It amazes me when people run down a military man who puts his life on the line for their country.

I agree that the military doesnt make heros. In most cases what we consider a war hero was someone that id extraordinary things to keep his but alive or the guy standing next to him and at that time wasnt thinking love of country. Look at the long list of war heros. Many were men that youd never expect would ever get that title and alot of those who we call heros are in a box in the ground. It also didnt make them a better man when they got out. I saw what i consider brave bad asses fall apart when shtf and saw guys i was nervous to be next to step up. But what it did do was after the fact make them any different then they were then before it happened. Bottom line is the rambo crap is more movie then truth. Just look at your VA hospital and see the people going into ptsd groups. Youll see guys that youd step aside if you saw them on the street. I worked for a Navy chief for a short period. He told me to "fear people that want you to think there a hero. Stand behind the quiet ones." I watch fox news every day. Joey Jones is one i shake my head at. He gave alot for this country. He lost both of his legs. Fox wants you to think hes a war hero. I told my wife one day that if he wants my respect he will earn it by what he says not by wearing cut off pants every day so you can see his prosthetics. Thats just show boating. Theres police officers and firefighters that put there asses on the line everyday that never served that deserve more respect then i will give him. That's a pretty close analogy.  Both of my sons are Veterans.  The youngest did 3 combat tours. He occasionally will talk a little about it with me, but not much.
I respect veterans, but I don't worship them,  and in my opinion this wearing a "I am a veteran cap" has been taken to the  extreme BY SOME.
Some EXPECT discounts at stores and restaurants and complain when they don't get'em.

I don't have to watch a video to know that George Herbert Walker Bush is a slime ball. I know that, when he tried to sell our country out,  and deprive us of our rights and undermine our Constitution. Apparently you missed that part.
