In like a lamb, out like a lion

 Or vise-versa. That is a saying about the month of March here that I have heard my entire life . March definitely crept in on little lamb's feet. Then we had a few bobcat or even puma days during the month but the lion came roaring in yesterday. All I had to deal with was the wind as it's range land to my west but I can see to Texas where the farming starts from my door. It was just a brown cloud to the east. I found it very easy to walk to the garage. Returning to the house was a bit more difficult.

The opposite here. If I look to the West it's farmland and dirt for as far as you can see, to the east Ranch Land and canyons, but still Dusty.

One of the reasons I stay on this side of the state line is the lack of dirt blowing around. There is a reason why the vehicles from the south plains over in Texas farm country have frosty chrome and windshields after a few years. They have been sandblasted by Mother Nature. From your description you might see the same thing where you now live.

Cold and wet, we had snow last night.

Monday morning we had a low of 13 degrees here after wind and snow.  If you didn't know any better it looked like a day in January.  Two days later which was yesterday it was almost 70 here.

!3 degrees where you live and some the trees are putting on leaves here. They will have to do it over as we haven't had our last freeze.  It's something that happens every year. The mesquites and desert willows are smarter and appear just as dormant as back in winter. People believe that when the mesquites put on leaves freezing weather is over until next winter. That is usually true but not always as I have seen them even lose their blooms to a late freeze but I have never seen that happen to a desert willow as they are the last thing to get green here.

Same here. In town, trees buddin out, mesquite ? Nope.

The area I live in, we never put tomato plants out until the end of May, because there was always a chance of frost up until then.  Its funny how we get a few warm days in March and people think that summer has arrived. Then when the snow wind and cold comes again they think its some kind of unusual happening, when it really isn't. I remember one year seeing snow flakes on May 9th.
