« on: March 21, 2022, 08:16:44 AM »
Did anyone here have one of these as a kid? I did and i used it a lot, they even made a good movie about it. Along with my Red rider BB gun. I still have both of them.

When my grand daughter was about 3 years old..she made known her desire for "a red wagon with a stick".  Assuming that "stick" meant handle, gramps was obligated.
Now that she is  in her mid-twenties, that wagon went bye-bye last summer..guess they don't build them like they used to.

It is, i saw one a kid got last Christmas. It was already broken, wheels were coming apart. I told him some hard ware stores sell metal wheels. So do the sharp shops for lawnmowers, if they would fit the axels.

Yep had one as a kid, and it took a beating, but never broke. I remember we would pull it half a mile or more to a reservoir close by, and use the wagon to haul all the bluegill we would catch back to our home.

The other half bought one for garden work and hauling grociers to the door twenty or so years ago; I though she was nuts.
Best thing she has ever bought; used for hauling retaining wall bricks, worked like a charm.

It is starting to rust out from being outside 24/7 but still does the job.

Radio Flyer's tricycles, scooters and most of its other products are already made in China. A Wisconsin company makes its plastic wagons and will continue to do so.

This local company used to be owned by one man, the originator of the product and company.
Charles Aronson was an eccentric fellow and made a few such wagons as custom 'one offs'..  They were
rugged and precision, but very costly.

Later they went corporate..and a bit later the Japanes (Koike) bought in.  They started with welding positioners..but now make all kinds of welding, steel cutting tools for industry.

In the link above, you will see a video introducing their firm.  That video was made by my son & grandson for introducing Koike Aronson to potential coustomers.  Here's that video. (2 minutes)
