The organizers should have known better, they are liberal as they come and have frozen many accounts for conservative causes.  Seems a lawsuit is needed, with all the separate donations, it should be a class action.

Misappropriating funds has become
a prevalent disease these days.
Lots of it going on, and nobody having
to pay the price for it

GoFundMe didn't have any problem keeping the funding going for the illegal Automous Zone in Seattle, or the money they kept flowing to the BLM organization.

I've had people chastise me for
saying that when funds are taken
from me for my benefit, ie SS or
retirement, etc.,  that if those funds
disappear or can't be accounted
for,  I contend it's either been stolen
or misappropriated, whatever you
want to call it. If the money was
lost through " investment ", somebody
did a poor job or didn't do their job
or is a thief or both. To me, it's the
same as if I deposit money in the
bank. It's supposed to be there
when I get ready for it regardless
of what happens in the world.
We had  a "situation " here not too
awful long ago with the police and
fire department pension fund sans
funds. If they took it from them, it
it should be there if it wasn't stolen.
I've always been critical of people
thinking they knew better than I
about what to do with my money

   Probably what they will do..Obviously, they cannot give all the funds back to the donors, many being anonymous..and I suspect they don't really want to.
 
   They could hand the funds over to "go send me", who can honestly pass the money to where it was intended.
  ...But of course, that would be the honest thing to do...let's see what "go fund me" really does !
