Maybe a house will fall on Pelosi. She sure is ugly and evil enough. And one on Hilary also, make it brick. Democrats in Congress are the flying monkeys.

Alas…..nowhere else in the world would a nostalgic comment about an old movie devolve into unrelated political comments.

Agreed, how sad.
Now, back to the thread topic.

I've never watched the "Wizard of Oz", or "Gone With The Wind", and having seen short clips of both over the years, have no plans to.

One is demeaning to "tin men", "scare crows", and "peaceful lions", while the latter is clearly racist in nature.

Even after all the years. It is still very good due to the storyline and actors.

It was one of the first color movies to ever come out. I think the first. But some say it wasn’t.

What was the first color movie?

The first commercially produced film in natural color was A Visit to the Seaside (1908). The eight-minute British short film used the Kinemacolor process to capture a series of shots of the Brighton Southern England seafront. The first feature length, non-documentary film was The World, the Flesh and the Devil produced in 1914. The feature length drama film is now considered a lost film, but was the first feature length film to use the Kinemacolor process.

As mentioned in the video, Technicolor’s revolutionary process was first used in Disney's short film Flowers and Trees. And although the process was still expensive, the technology was improved upon and was used in some of the most iconic films in cinema such as The Wizard of Oz (1939) and Gone With the Wind (1939).

For me the defining moment in cinematography was the green hornet. Kato. Stole the show...

Some of those early films were very flammable and explosive in large numbers.  A lot of them have been copied where the originals are now stored in a climate controlled vault. Much of the old original WW2 battles film footage is stored away in one of those also. Humidity and mold is the main enemy for these old films.

Who can tell me who made the first color television set? RCA i think , but it may have been Zenith.
I found this about the first color broadcast.

The first national color broadcast (the 1954 Tournament of Roses Parade) occurred on January 1, 1954, but over the next dozen years most network broadcasts, and nearly all local programming, continued to be in black-and-white.

Dad bought a color RCA TV in 1962, and put up an outside antenna. We got Lubbock and all said wow. The first show i ever saw was The Wizard of OZ. The commercials were still black and white.

There may have been others with different broadcast system but RCA is credited with the first mass system that was adoped by the FCC in 1953.
It was more complicated before that.
DuMont system was broadcasting in color in the 1940s to a limited audience from WCBW.

Zenith had the first wireless remote in 1956.

Bought my grandkids a 'Little Rascals' DVD; they were glued to it! Crazy how different the times are now, but kids still relate to kids.
