Getting the most out of GBO Reloaded

Dunno how you guys view this site. But I feel some at failing to see threads that if you saw them would be of interest to you.

I'm sure some are primarily interest in a few different forums and concentrate your time there and perhaps only look at those forums to the exclusion of others. I know some seem to post all their new threads only to the PBSF and Political forum. Perhaps those are the only ones some visit.

I'd like to suggest you use the WHAT'S NEW SINCE LAST VISIT option. It's the ONLY way I personally view this site or the other GBO site. That way I am sure to see all the threads with posts since I was last here and I can select those that look to be interesting and ignore the rest.

I am posting a lot of gun and shooting related threads and putting them on the forums that are most appropriate for the content. I have noticed many get darn few views and none or nearly no comments. I don't really think that's due to lack of interest in them but rather that you just aren't seeing them. At least I'd like to think that's why.

So if you don't already how about giving the what's new since last visit option a try and see what  you are missing.

I too use the "new" feature, and I have commented on a couple of your gun stuff that interested me.

I would like to see a bunch of "bank fishermen" show up and talk about catching catfish, and bluegills, etc.
I sold my boat and most of my flyrods, so I'm stuck on the bank drowning a worm.  Anyone out there??

I think I'll run down to "fishing" and throw out a line.

Fishing forum isn't that far down these days. I brought it up to this section and combined all the fishing and boating into one forum since none was getting much traffic.

Post your questions and concerns there, I'll do what I can to answer. I've done a lot of bank fishing and that's all we've ever done on my pond which I guess is now 12-15 years or so old.

I have catfish, bass, blue gill, shell crackers and crappie in there and of course minnow and grass carp.

Got to admit, I have never used that link.  I think I am already seeing all of the new posts.  I look for the Forum icon change.  Is that not also an indicator?

I just used that link, for the first time, for over 1.5 hours(!), and YOU ARE CORRECT.  I have been MISSING a lot of communication and discussion through my bias against certain Forums in which I imagined I had no interest or voice of experience. 

I was WRONG in that.  My eyes are opened!  The Sleeper has awakened!  I have enjoyed this morning so much more than usual, making post after post in forums I had previously no thought I would find an interest.

I am really old and getting very slow so where is the (what is new sense my last visit) notice to click on? Ok I said I was slow and old but I found it eyes not that great anymore either.

That's how I do it.

I generally look for the little orange box that say NEW after a thread title.
I do not read every new thread , as some are a double up of an item in another post plus some are just not new news.
I also hit mark all thread read at the bottom so I know what is new the next day.

But Bob do you look at every forum in the index? If not seems you might miss some that could be of interest. I'm posting daily in all sorts of forums way down the list.

Of course maybe they don't interest you. If you click the what's new link you see a list of all the threads with new posts and can decide to read or ignore. Any other way unless you go all the way down the index list will cause you to miss new posts that "might" be of interest.

I would love to see this site really go over big like it was when I joined back in 2008. Back then there were a lot of members posting and you could sell an item in less than a day most of the time or get some really good deals but today it seems that all the action is on in DC or who kissed someone when they should not have.
