Anybody Tried GAB Social Network?
« on: February 26, 2021, 02:36:32 AM »
I joined in January. Supposed to be all about freedom of speech, and so on and so on.
The owner posts vulgar "supposedly  Christian" cartoons, and rants about his competitors, while others rant about jews, other races" and other sites.
I guess I'm just not cut out for reading all that crap, and I got tired of blocking all the "f-bombs".
I don't agree with any of the liberal thinking,  but it seemed every thing on the site was negative.
Tried the Christian forum, but even the language some of them used, along with the wackiness was let's say: difficult to navigate through.
There were some good folks there,  but like I said, the negativity just kinda got to me.
I had in the past tried Facebook, but didn't care for it either. Gab makes Facebook look pretty tame.
I deleted my account this morning.

Never heard of it. Is it a forum site format like this or more like facebook or twitter format?

Too much free speech isn't necessarily a good thing. Seems to always lead to folks seeing how vulgar they can get. We're pretty open to free speech here but not so much so it leads to vulgarity for the sake of vulgarity.

Found it, looked at it. Didn't see the vulgarity you mentioned but sure saw nothing to cause me to return.

Its similar to Facebook, raves about "free speech", constantly laced with racism, and constantly promotes financial membership upgrading.
Its owner argues for patriotism, and Christianity, but has an oddly crude version of both in my opinion.
I found it growingly depressing.

I joined it as an alternative to FB. A place just for friends and family members to congregate and exchange news and pics. You can start your own group and pretty much disregard anything that's of no interest to you.
Freedom Of Speech.....Once we lose it, every other freedom will follow.
