Help - Adjusting dovetail forearm attachments
« on: March 03, 2004, 06:28:56 PM »
Need a little help guys. Have T/C custom shop barrel in SS. The screw attachment lugs are not centered on the barrel so can't attach Bullberry hanger bar where forearm will mount. These seem very hard to move. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated. Do they only go in one direction?

They should move either way.  You should be able to drive them with a brass drift.  If not, put a screw in and screw it down against the barrel under the dovetail insert; not a lot, but some.  This should loosen it a bit so you can move it.  If you overdo it, you'll have a loose insert, so be careful.

Thanks Ron,

Finally got them out and a little work with a fine file allowed them to slide in and center with a nylon punch.

You have to wonder about the quality control at fox ridge to let a barrel out like that.
