Does the Remington custom shop use Brown precision stocks?
Anyone have any experience using Brown precision stocks good or bad.  I am having a 7mm rem mag built and  considering a Brown precision stock. Second choice is a Mcmillian. THANKS

I have one that I have owned for 10 years or more.  It has been on a .223 walk-about rifle, and is now rebedded and on a .17 Rem..   I have been very satisfied with the stock: it is very stiff, but light.  It takes to bedding compounds very well.  For lighting your load and still having a stiff, strong stock, I haven't seen it's equal.

i have three and am well satisfied with them, they are light. and quite stiff they do require a lot of work to get ready to paint. because of their current price if i was to want a similar stock, i would go with the basner high tech. just as light much cheaper and comes ready to paint.
hope this helps ed in idaho

SHW - You won't be sorry! I've got 2 of them and they are light years ahead of the junk that Remington puts on their rifles! I bought a Rem 700 SS BDL in .300RUM and got rid of that plastic stock as fast as McMillian could get me one! I got lucky, McMillan had the one for my rifle on their internet specials page so I got a break on the price and didn't have to wait for it to be built. Good luck! CEJ... :D
If I can't take my rifles with me, I don't want to go!

You won't go wrong with a Browns stock.  I took some summer classes from Chet brown, at Lassen College gunsmithing school, many years ago.
The new Remingtons are not wearing a browns stock.  They aren't the only good synthetic stock on the market, but they are darn good stocks.
What makes it better for me is that I drive right by their place 4 or 5 times a week.
Horses and mules take me away from the mess of mankind and into the beautiful country.
