Now looking at these machines, I wonder; a shell trap is any tanks worst enemy and they all look to have far more of those than old round ones did.
Now I know nothing of current tank warfare physics and how they are designed to defeat the exotic munitions used. (though I still wonder if they can stop an extreme velocity simple solid round , well enough.

Most of these can/could stop an opposing tank of similar exotic build by taking out a tread, which turns them into simple artillery, till they get fixed.
I would hate to be the grunts that then have to bring up and try to keep them supplied with ammunition so as to be not over run.

A few of them look like they have a low turret profile. And slanted armour for shell deflection. 
I saw a German Leopard once at Ft Bliss Tx there for training. That was one big noisy Tank.
